How to Accept Online Card Payments in Anguilla

In Anguilla, Genius Checkout currently supports Republic Bank through our Powertranz integration. Republic Bank must approve your eCommerce merchant account and issue Powertranz or First Atlantic Commerce (FAC) credentials before you can connect it to Genius Checkout.

Villas, restaurants, excursions, transport providers, event planners, and service companies can then collect payments through the software that best fits the sale instead of forcing every customer into a manual bank transfer.

#Build the merchant profile around high-value reservations

Anguilla's villa and premium hospitality transactions can be larger and booked well in advance. Republic Bank may need to review cancellation terms, refund exposure, fulfilment, fraud screening, average values, and international-card mix.

Ask for written confirmation of:

• Powertranz/FAC as the issued gateway.
• Direct or HPP mode.
• Test and live Merchant IDs and passwords.
• Approved transaction currencies and settlement account.
• 3-D Secure and risk controls.
• Authorization, capture, void, full refund, and partial refund.
• Tokenization and later merchant-initiated charges, if required.

For HPP, collect the exact PageSet and PageName. For Direct, make sure the processing password is not confused with a portal login.

#Do not make one transaction represent an entire stay

Choose the payment flow that matches the booking terms. If Republic Bank enables split or partial capture, authorize the full booking amount, capture the deposit, and capture the remaining authorized balance later. If it does not, charge the deposit first and create a new payment for the balance. Add-ons and new charges always need their own transaction, while every record should retain the villa booking or invoice reference.

This structure produces a usable timeline and avoids duplicate-order errors. It also makes partial refunds and disputes easier to explain.

#Choose how customers will pay

• A villa or restaurant website using WordPress can add WooCommerce checkout.
• A concierge, planner, or service business can use HighLevel for lead conversion and automated follow-up.
• A small shop can embed Ecwid.
• A confirmed reservation, catering bill, or transfer can use a payment link.
• A property-management or reservations application can connect through the API.

Genius Checkout keeps the approved gateway configuration central. The original platform retains its own booking and customer record.

This is a real Genius Checkout Test Store checkout with Powertranz Direct as the only enabled payment gateway. The amount and currency are illustrative; the merchant's bank agreement determines which currencies can be processed and settled.

#Direct and HPP change the handoff

Use Direct for the integrated Genius Checkout experience and approved tokenized later charges. HPP redirects the buyer to Powertranz. If checkout begins inside an iframe, the hosted gateway step should move to a top-level window.

In both cases, allow cancellation. Do not treat the buyer reaching a confirmation URL as proof of settlement; verify the signed server-side result.

#Test the experience a guest will actually have

Run tests on mobile and desktop from outside the staff network. Check an approval, decline, 3-D Secure challenge, cancellation, network interruption, retry, duplicate callback, and refund. If the business plans to collect a later balance, test the precise approved mechanism and consent language.

The buyer should see the business name, support contact, amount, and currency. Since Anguilla uses XCD and visitor businesses may quote USD, avoid a bare dollar sign.

#Make daily reconciliation part of launch

Train staff to match the reservation, Genius Checkout transaction, Powertranz reference, and bank settlement. Document who investigates a payment that appears in Powertranz but not yet in the booking system. Never resolve that mismatch by asking the guest to send full card details.
