In Panama, Genius Checkout currently supports BAC Credomatic and Credicorp Bank through our Powertranz integration. Your bank must approve your eCommerce merchant account and issue Powertranz or First Atlantic Commerce (FAC) credentials before you can connect it to Genius Checkout.
Once a compatible profile exists, Genius Checkout can connect it to online stores, HighLevel funnels, payment links, QR codes, and custom applications.

Confirm the processor behind the bank product
Both institutions may offer several payment products. BAC also offers regional digital-sales tools, and a native BAC credential is not automatically a Powertranz credential. Ask the merchant-services representative:
- Is this merchant profile processed through Powertranz or FAC?
- Is the mode Direct or Hosted Payment Page?
- What are the separate test and live Merchant IDs and passwords?
- Which transaction and settlement currencies are enabled?
- Does HPP have PageSet and PageName?
- Are 3-D Secure, refunds, partial refunds, voids, and capture enabled?
- Are tokenization and recurring transactions approved?
If the institution issues only its own native gateway credentials, do not place them in the Genius Checkout Powertranz configuration. A different supported connector or integration would be required.
Account for Panama's currency presentation
Panama's payment context uses the balboa and US dollar. The site should send the exact ISO currency enabled on the merchant profile and show it clearly. Do not infer API behavior from the fact that values may be discussed at parity.
Regional services, travel, online education, subscriptions, exports, and retail may each need different currencies and refund rules. Obtain written confirmation before publishing prices.
Match the payment method to the sale
- A WordPress store can use WooCommerce.
- An agency, consultant, or funnel-driven business can use HighLevel.
- An existing site can embed Ecwid.
- An invoice, reservation, or WhatsApp sale can use payment links and QR codes.
- A local ERP, reservation system, or SaaS platform can use the Genius Checkout API.
The source platform keeps the order; Genius Checkout creates the payment session and preserves each attempt; Powertranz processes under the bank relationship.
Direct versus hosted checkout
Use Direct only when the merchant account supports it and the business needs the integrated Genius Checkout flow or approved tokens. Use HPP when the profile is configured for the Powertranz-hosted page.
HPP should launch at the top browser level. Direct card handling must never leak a primary account number or CVV into merchant logs.
Test in Spanish and English where customers need both
Check payment-page language, merchant name, amounts, phone format, accented names, and return messages. Run an approval, decline, 3-D Secure flow, cancellation, Back navigation, retry, duplicate callback, and refund.
Every retry and renewal needs a new gateway order identifier. Preserve the original failed transaction rather than trying to recycle it.

Yes. A payment link can collect a confirmed invoice, reservation, or service amount while another system remains the source of truth.
Can a Panama business connect the same gateway to HighLevel and WooCommerce?
Yes, when the merchant approval covers both uses. Each platform's orders remain separate.
