Accept Online Card Payments in Saint Vincent

In Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Genius Checkout currently supports Republic Bank through our Powertranz integration. Republic Bank must approve your eCommerce merchant account and issue Powertranz or First Atlantic Commerce (FAC) credentials before you can connect it to Genius Checkout.

Sailing, ferry, accommodation, tour, export, retail, and professional-service businesses also need to decide how each payment will be identified, fulfilled, refunded, and reconciled.

Confirm that the merchant profile uses Powertranz/FAC and request:

• Direct or Hosted Payment Page mode.
• Test and live Merchant IDs and processing passwords.
• HPP PageSet and PageName if the provider hosts card entry.
• Approved transaction currencies and settlement account.
• 3-D Secure and fraud settings.
• Immediate sale, authorization, capture, void, full-refund, and partial-refund rights.
• Tokenization and recurring-payment rights when needed.

A terminal merchant number or online-banking password is not a gateway credential. Keep the processing details private and separate by environment.

#Use one commercial reference across separate payments

A sailing reservation can involve a deposit and a balance. A shipment can involve an initial order and an adjustment. A service invoice can fail and later be retried. Keep the booking, invoice, or order number as searchable metadata. Give every new charge or retry its own Genius Checkout transaction and Powertranz order ID; later captures against an existing authorization remain on that authorization.

That model preserves failed payments instead of rewriting them and prevents the gateway from seeing a legitimate retry as a duplicated order.

#Select a channel around the sales process

• A catalogue of products, tours, or fixed packages can use WooCommerce or Ecwid.
• A service business using CRM follow-up can connect HighLevel.
• A confirmed sailing or accommodation balance can use a secure payment link.
• A market stall, office, or printed invoice can use a QR code that opens checkout.
• An established reservation or ferry system can connect through a supported API build.

The approved gateway remains central while each channel sends its own order reference and buyer data.

#Direct and HPP affect the buyer experience

Use Direct for card entry through Genius Checkout, approved provider tokens, or supported recurring payments. HPP redirects to the secure Powertranz page and returns afterward. Do not put HPP inside an iframe if the provider blocks framing.

For either mode, allow the buyer to cancel. The order should remain unpaid and recoverable, not enter a loop that reopens the gateway.

#Test the route between islands and systems

Mobile reliability matters when customers are travelling. Test on a phone, a slow connection, and after switching between Wi-Fi and cellular service. Confirm that a delayed browser return or callback does not create two payments or leave a successful gateway transaction invisible to staff.

Run an approval, decline, 3-D Secure flow, cancellation, retry, duplicate callback, and refund. If Authorize Only is used, test both capture and void. If a saved card is required, verify consent, token ownership, renewal, failure, and replacement-card flow.

#Currency and settlement need explicit labels

Saint Vincent uses XCD, but a tourism or export business may quote customers in other currencies. Configure only what Republic Bank has enabled. Display the currency code beside every amount and reconcile transaction currency separately from settlement currency.
